Brief bio: Sensei Toyo Teru Katamori was born in Worcester Massachusetts as David George Erickson Jr. and found his path as a Buddhist as he completed his Daily Dharma (21 Day Program) which was begun on April 1, 2007 and completed on April 21, 2007. David George Erickson Jr received the Ti Sarana (Three Treasures Buddhist Confirmation) on the 8th Day of January 2008 and formally received the Dharma name To Yo which means Eastern Sun. Toyo further adapted the name Toyo Teru Katamori officially which translates as (Toyo) Eastern Sun. Teru meaning (Shining) and Katamori meaning (Kata-Wisdom), (Mori-Guard) Katamori. LMin. Toyo Teru Katamori Sensei established Eastern Sun Sangha on January 1st, 2009 and has actively enrolled members and conducted monthly gatherings.

Brief bio: Ricardo Sasaki is founder-director and teacher at Nalanda Buddhist Center of Brazil. He has trained under many teachers from various Buddhist traditions. Besides his work in Psychological Counseling and directing the Nalanda Buddhist Center, he is also a translator, writer, editor of Dharma books and Foreign Affairs Director and Co-founder of the Brazilian Buddhist Collegiate (that congregates the Buddhist teachers active in Brazil). He has been teaching Buddhist philosophy and meditation in Brazil and Europe, as well as participating in a number of international congresses in the past years. He is a Certified Dharma Teacher (Dhammacariya Dhanapala) by Ven. Dr. Aggamahapandita Rewata Dhamma Sayadaw; and a Certified Dharma Teacher and Lay Minister (Shaku Ryushin) by the Mahayana lineage of Rev. Gyomay Kubose.

Current activities: At present I am a Social Worker involved with youth in Juvenile Detention. I am hoping to expand my duties as a Lay Minister on the local level by working towards formation of a local sangha.

Brief bio: I am 56 years old and have been studying the dharma approx. 20 years. My association with Bright Dawn began while seeking a sangha on the Internet. I completed the Bright Dawn Lay Ministers program in 2009.
